The worst experience I have ever had with a dealership. Moving to Palatine from Texas and buying a new car. Contacted the dealership and was working with someone. My father was co-signing with me however he lives in Texas. They told me I had to register the car in Texas since my dad was on the loan. Blah Blah Blah! Trash people selling trash cars. If you buy from them make sure you have a lawyer because they will screw you every way possible. They could have just fixed the oil leaking from the car but they tried to get out of taking responsibility.
New ownership seems to be way better if you want a fair good deal see Brian schlottman he will hook you up. We were just scoping out the possibility of moving to a Jetta once the lease was up on our Sentra my Tiguan was in for service so killing time we did some inquiring. Worst experience ever. Had an appointment to test drive a car. Called before i left my home to confirm car was still there since we would be driving over 2 hrs to get to this dealership.. John Paul is the man to see in service. Not only does he have great soft skills and brings a smile to your face but is super honest and is there to help you out. Their service department is also very laid back and its not stressful at all. The biggest plus is that I was able to get my car serviced even though I was late in normal service hours.

I am normally not the type to leave reviews, but this dealership has been by far my worst experience in the near 20 vehicles I have owned.
Aside from my salesman, Jack, being very knowledgeable, nothing else about this experience has been positive at all. I came back to purchase my vehicle (certified pre-owned GTI) on a Monday after already being there on a Saturday to get the pricing figured out. I came in a 8:45 am and expexted a long wait for an oil/transmission lube/flush and point check inspection. I was out in and hour or so. Used wifi to get work done while there. Great experience and the Service Rep John Paul was very congenial/helpful.
The saler is very nice. He always tells custmers what they need, and never hides prices or tricks custmers.They are very patient, answers questions flexibly.
After 5 PM one Friday evening, my Passat battery died (it was its time). Got AAA to come give me a start and troubleshoot. Called Autobarn to see if they could take care of it right away... and... they could. They squeezed me into the last hour of their day and provided a 5 year battery at a cost I thought was right. Thanks.

John Paul was very good and the 80,000 mile service was only what was needed on the vehicle... No add-ons or work that did not need to be done.
Chris and Raffi took good care of me. My oil change was covered and it did not cost me anything. I had a noon appointment and was greeted immediately. Always very professional and courteous.
He was very helpful and I was impressed with the customer service. He showed me the issue in person and explained the process in detail.

If I could give them negative stars I would. They apparently don't know how to transfer a Wisconsin plate from the old car we traded to the new car we purchased from them. They were fine with my pregnant wife driving the new car illegally (because she didn't have any other way to get to work) for a month because the temporary plate expired and they did not have the new car registered yet. First off such a PLEASURE to finally find a dealership that was non pressure and straight forward. Marley was so nice and easy to work with. We bought a used car from Autobarn and there was an issue known to the dealership when we bought the car: the rear camera was foggy. We were told to have it checked at our free 30-day checkup. At that checkup they couldn't fix the issue and a member of the sales team assured me that Autobarn would pay for the repair when I had it done. They did and it wasn't cheap! Most impressive. Thanks, Autobarn, we will be back when we need to replace a car!

We went to the Autobarn Volkswagen in Mt. Prospect . There was a particular vehicle I was looking for Cesar M was of great assistance. He was able to pull up the vehicle I was looking for. Test drove It then closed the deal. Then he got his Finance mgr. Raffi over he was over terms and condition, with in a few hours everything was done. It was a great experience Would definitely recommend it. Both are easy to work with to ensure you get what you want or need and in a timely manner.
I recently flew in from Indianapolis to meet this wonderful group to purchase my long time dream car. They picked me up from the airport and treated me very well. Cesar ( sales team ) did an incredible job of finding us the vehicle we wanted when every other dealer was still waiting for new arrivals & got us a realistic amount for our trade-in.
Communication was excellent and Jack was very responsive tool of my questions and concerns. I would do business with this dealership again in the future.
My Husband and I are VERY particular when it comes to customer service as we both own our own service related business's. We went directly to Cesar and sat with him until we bought what we needed. We unfortunately got a flat tire on our 2017 Golf. I put the spare on the car and came to the Autobarn. The tire was clearly damaged and we would have to purchase a replacement. John Paul assisted us and was very professional and friendly. He showed us the damage to the tire which would prevent a patch. He worked to order the tire we needed and kept in touch with is on delivery when we could have it mounted. All was completed as promised. Very pleased with the service provided to us.

Had schedule an appointment for an oil change and software update. Unfortunately two days before the scheduled service a tire popped after hitting a pot hole. After inspection the tire rim was damaged also. A small service turned into a big service. Ray P was very accommodating and found a way to reduce the overall price and the work was done timely and professionally. Truly appreciate the extra effort and professionalism.

Every interaction I have with this dealer exceeds my expectations! They had to keep my car overnight and went above and beyond to keep my car inside so that it was covered during a snow storm. To me that is the extra mile!
Recommend asking for Frank Campos if you need a new car. He really tries and go the extra mile for you. Some tough price negotiation with management, but it doesn't hurt. The only thing not fully satisfying was that between the dealer and the manufacturer they run 3 hard inquiries on my account, which badly hurt my score. Had I known that before, I would have at least discussed the issue with the management before proceeding.
Zaia helped me this time in the service department. He was courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. I will definitely return to this dealership when I need service.

Our Salesperson Angel was very accommodating and agreed to meet us right when the dealership opened that morning. We went on test drive where my wife and I drove and asked questions. Angel knew the answer to a majority of the questions and was spot on. Very impressed with his customer service through this buying experience.

The waiting room is comfortable, the staff is attentive and friendly and they don't hesitate to go above and beyond to make sure that you're completely satisfied.
